Revitalize Your Eyes and Refresh Your Expression
Your eyes are one of the most expressive features of your face, often the first thing people notice, and the key to non-verbal communication. Over time, the delicate skin around your eyes may show signs of aging, with excess skin, puffiness, and sagging leading to a tired and aged appearance. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, offers a way to rejuvenate the eyes by addressing these concerns, bringing a naturally refreshed look that brightens your entire face.

Dr. Yau is dedicated to providing expert care that helps patients look and feel their best. During blepharoplasty, she can tighten the eyelid muscles, reposition tissues, and remove excess skin and fat to restore a youthful and well-rested appearance. The procedure can be tailored to either the upper or lower eyelids, or both, depending on your specific needs.
What is Blepharoplasty?
Droopy Upper Lids:
Removes excess skin that makes eyes look hooded and tired.
Puffy Under-Eye Bags:
Reduces bulging fat and smooths the lower eyelid area.
Constantly Tired Appearance:
Gives you a brighter, more awake, and youthful look.
Improved Peripheral Vision:
Lifts heavy lids that can block your field of sight.

The Procedure
Dr. Farrah Yau tailors each blepharoplasty procedure to the individual patient, focusing on achieving a refreshed, youthful, and natural-looking eye area while addressing your specific concerns.
The surgery typically includes:
Step One: Consultation and Planning
Dr. Yau will evaluate your eyes, discuss your goals, and create a personalized surgical plan tailored specifically to your needs.
Step Two: Anesthesia
The procedure is typically performed as an outpatient surgery using local anesthesia for upper eyelid surgery. More complex cases involving both upper and lower eyelids may require general anesthesia.
Step Three: Incision Placement:
For upper eyelid surgery, a precise incision is made along the natural lid crease to hide scarring. For lower eyelid surgery, incisions are made just below the lash line or inside the eyelid. Excess fat is repositioned or removed, and loose skin is carefully tightened.
Step Four: Tissue Repositioning
The procedure results in a more youthful, refreshed appearance with long-lasting rejuvenation around the eyes.
Recovery & Aftercare
Initial Healing:
For the first few days after surgery, patients are encouraged to apply lubricating drops and cold compresses to aid in healing and minimize swelling.
Stitch Removal:
Stitches are typically removed within 4 to 5 days after the procedure.
Return to Normal Appearance:
Most side effects, such as swelling, subside within 2 to 3 weeks.
Overall Recovery:
Many patients find that recovery is easier than expected, with a refreshed and youthful appearance emerging quickly.
