Is a breast lift right for you?
Ideal candidates for mastopexy are in good overall health, maintain a stable weight, and experience one or more of the following concerns:

The Breast Lift Procedure
Breast lift surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure, allowing you to return home the same day. The surgery typically takes between 2 to 3 hours, depending on the extent of the lift needed. Dr. Yau will customize the incision technique based on your individual breast anatomy and degree of sagging:

Around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease
Anchor Shape
Around the areola, down to the breast crease, and along the crease
During the procedure, Dr. Yau will remove excess skin, reshape the underlying tissue, and reposition the nipple and areola to a more youthful height. The incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches, and the result is a firmer, more defined breast appearance.

What to expect during your breast lift procedure?
During a breast lift, Dr. Yau reshapes and tightens the breast tissue, removing excess skin and elevating the breasts to a higher position on the chest. In some cases, the nipple and areola may also be resized or repositioned to create a more harmonious look.
For patients experiencing significant volume loss, Dr. Yau may recommend combining the breast lift with a breast augmentation for enhanced fullness and firmness.
Recovering after a breast lift

After surgery, patients typically experience some bruising, soreness, and swelling, which gradually subsides over the course of a few days. Most patients can return to work within 1 to 2 weeks. Initially, breasts are supported with an elastic bandage, followed by a supportive bra that is worn continuously for about one month to aid in healing and maintain the new breast shape.

While the results are immediately noticeable, the breasts will continue to refine as swelling reduces and scars fade over time. A breast lift offers long-lasting improvements, though the natural effects of aging will still apply.
